This measure has been brought in due to the huge number of visitors, some 25,000 between July and mid-September last summer, and leading to fears of lasting damage to the site.
Access to the site during peak hours – 12 noon to 7 pm – will be by a ticket system, with tickets available free of charge from the Casares Tourist Office, at the on-site tourist kiosk or on online at www.ticketea.com/entradas-actividades-banos-la-hedionda.
Vehicular access to the area will be controlled by security staff who will control the barrier to the site situated by the car park opposite the Los Alamos restaurant.
During the summer months the local authorities will also provide lifeguards as well as increase the maintenance and cleaning of the site.
