Estepona’s Cultural Department presents a free rock concert on Friday April 20 from 8 pm at the Padre Manuel Cultural Centre featuring two local bands – Sultanes del Swing and La Garra Pata Negra.
Kicking off the night are Sultanes del Swing whose repertoire leans on rock legends such as Dire Straits, Jimi Hendriz, The Eagles, Elvis Presley and Gary Moore, amongs. Continuing the show are La Garra Pata Negra whose songs draw on their personal experiences delivered in traditional Rock Andaluz style.
Sultanes de Swing
The Sultans of Swing is a group of experienced local musicians with a long history behind them in various musical groups in the area.
Originally formed in 2011 when guitarrist Nyno Ramos moved to Estepona from Madrid and decided to put together a covers band playing homage to the “Legends of Rock”.
Original members included Alberto Gessa (vocals) and Marce Mansilla (bass guitar) who were soon joined by Juanjo Gutiérrez (drums) and finally Juan Try (keyboards) completing the lineup.
La Garra Pata Negra
La Garra Pata Negra is a musical project at the heart of which is Catalan singer/songwriter/guitarrist Sergio Buitrago who now lives in Estepona.
Drawing on Rock Andaluz influences including Pata Negra, Kiko Veneno, Los Delinqüentes, etc., his music is full of energy and life.
He recently took part in the I Concurso La Garrapata Tío Zappa, in Jerez de la Frontera backed by the musicians from “Sultans of Swing”.
Entrance is free.
