ADANA, the EStepona-based dog rescue and rehoming charity held its annual spring Dog Show at the Palacio de Congresos, the usual venue for this popular event.
Hundreds of people, some from as far away as Mijas, Fuengirola and even Seville attended and helped raise over 5,000 euros, all of which will go to care for the more than one hundred and seventy dogs in the ADANA kennels, all of which are looking for a home.
Jo Melville, the organizer of the event, said she was very pleased with the turnout and the money raised. ‘We all know how the crisis is affecting everyone in Spain, especially people in our town’, she said ‘So it is quite an achievement to have raised so much money for our dogs’. Jo went on to thank all the many volunteers who had contributed to the show’s success.

In the first ever competition to find Senor Estepona, one of our most popular classes, the first prize went to Hugo, a magnificent German Shephere, owned by Inger Bergman. Hugo went on to win Best in Show.
Senorita Estepona, which also attracted a large entry, was won by Millie, owned by Salli Brown. Millie also won in the Best Adult category for dogs aged 2 – 9 years.
Best Young Dog was won by Henry, a beautiful Basset Hound who went on to win Reserve Best in Show, His happy owner is Michelle Na
The Best ex ADANA Dog was judged to be Brandy, owned by Carol Woolnoth and the Best Senior, Twiggy, owned by Carol Ball.
The Best Young Handler was Laura Warniers who impressed with her dog, Daisy, while Rachel Webb took Best Trick with her dog Grace.
