XII Manilva International Festival and Family Day


Manilva International FestivalManilva’ Foreign Residents Department, headed by Councillor Dean Shelton, is putting the final touches to the XII International Festival and Family Day to be held in and around the Castle in Castillo de la Duquesa on Saturday 19 May from 12 noon.

The event is an opportunity for Manilva’s cosmopolitan community to share its traditional cuisine, music and culture, with some 25 nationalities taking part.

There will be a packed programme of entertainment throughout the day music and dance from around the world.

Stage 1
XII International Festival – Castle

12 noon – International Parade through the streets of Castillo de la Duquesa.
12.30 – Love Sing Choir (UK)
1 pm – Official Opening of the event and presentation of plaques to the participating nationalities.
1.30 pm – Performance by the Municipal School of Dance.
2.15 pm – Traditional Irish Music.
3 pm Traditional Thai Dancing.
3.15 pm – Mamun (India).
3.45 pm – Malambo Dancing (Argentina).
4.15 pm – Performance from Mexico.
5 pm – Performance by the Jéssica Quiñones School of Corporal Expression.
5.30 pm – Music from the Ukraine.
6 pm – ‘H’ From Colombia.
7 pm – Mulata from Brazil.
7.30 pm – Brazilian Capoeira.
8 pm – Bolivian Dancing.
9 pm – Music by Chocolate Charlie & the Jazz Factory.

Stage 2
Family Day, El Huerto Park, Castillo

1 pm – 8 pm – Inflatable Castle.
5 pm – Corebar demonstration by Petra Brejchová.
5 pm – 8 pm – Balloon Modelling and Facepainting Workshops.
6 pm – 8 pm – Children’s entertainment, with dancing, singing and games.
