TRE, Talk Radio Europe, will host its annual Cudeca Telethon, on Friday, 25 November, from 10 am to 7 pm, with the opportunity to bid on a wide range of items, as well as pledge donations to the cancer care charity.
An increasing number of terminal cancer patients choose to spend their final months and days in their own home. Cudeca Hospice supports these patients and their families by providing Home Visits Teams. A team is made up of a doctor and nurse supported by in-house psychologists, a physiotherapist and social workers.
Each team costs Cudeca €100,000 per year and there are now 6 teams, with 2 teams added in the last year. Cudeca would not exist without private donations and fundraising.
In addition to providing care for their patients at home, Cudeca care for more than 1,200 patients each year from Cudeca Hospice Centre. The Hospice Centre also offers support in the Out-Patient Unit, Day Care Centre, Rehabilitation Programme, Psycho-Social Programme and Counselling.
Every year, Talk Radio Europe holds a telethon to raise funds to support Cudeca Hospice and once again the TRE Telethon 2016 aims to raise €100,000 to cover the annual cost of one team.
