By Sally Russell
A few years ago we adopted a tiny scrap called Squirdle. he came into our lives one Sunday evening and life has never been the same since. Squirdle is such a beguiling, lovable person that I wanted children to share in his life, so, with the aid of my retired show horse, Apollo, a very self opinionated person and the help of a magic coat, these two travelled the world having adventures, getting into scrapes and generally causing havoc.
They learn that they have to good, honest and care for people or the magic will disappear.
Each story is designed to be complete, so at the end it is time for bed, well, that was the idea!
In the first CD, they meet The Queen, go to Wembley, catch tennis ball thieves at Wimbledon, learn to ski, and rescue a drowning dog from a pool, among other things!
The Christmas stories are full of seasonal, festive stories, Christmas trees, falling stars, presents, Father Christmas and visit to the stable in Bethlehem.
I have been so lucky to have found locally a brilliant graphic designer in Michelle Hewitt of Hewitt & Hewitt, and the expert recording skills of Mark Fea, of Sidewinder Studios, Casares, not forgetting his magical guitar playing of excerpts of carols between stories. So, a bigh Thank You to them and of course to Squirdle, for putting magic in our lives.
Both CDs are available on Amazon.com, so go to his website, www.thesquirdlestories.com to see other options.
CDs will also be available from The Books Shop in Sabinillas.
A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Squirdle.
