Rod strides out for Cudeca

When Rod Andrew was diagnosed with prostrate cancer last year he feared the worst, but thanks to treatment and all the help he received from local cancer charity Cudeca he is on the road to recovery.

Rod was so grateful to Cudeca for all their help that he decided to give something back and being a keen walker, probably from his thirty years as a milkman back in the UK, he decided on a sponsored walk from Malaga back to his home town of Sabinillas, Manilva, and a fund raising event in his local O’Callaghans.

Leaving Malaga on Wednesday 28 January Rod expects to reach Fuengirola by Wednesday Night; Marbella on Thursday night; and Estepona on Friday night, ready for the hike into Sabinillas on Saturday 31 January, crossing the finish line at the Fisherman’s Statue on the Paseo Maritimo around 4 pm.

The money will go towards the running costs of Cudeca’s cancer hospice in Arroyo de la Miel.

If you want to contribute then visit his page on the Cudeca website here or pop into O’Callaghans, Sabinillas from 5 pm on Saturday 31 January to celebrate his achievement.
