Estepona’s local authority has recently installed a number of Wi-Fi hotspots in seven points in the town – three on the Paseo Maritimo; one in the Playa del Cristo area; one in the Plaza de Las Flores; one in Plaza ABC; and one in the Plazoleta Ortiz.
Members of the public can connect to this network free of charge for the first hour at a download/upload speed of 256 kbps. Once this hour is up, users can opt to extend their connection by a small payment of 1€ per day, 5€ per week, or 10€ for a month, payable by credit card or PayPal. Subscribers will receive an enhanced service with 1Mbps download/upload speed.
This public service aims to make internet access available to everyone, as well as creating an added attraction to visitors who can gain easier access to tourism information.
Estepona Town Hall plans to increase the number of these Wi-Fi hotspots in the coming months.
