La Linea's new hospital has hit yet another snag in the projects saga. The latest revelation is that part of the plot of land which the town hall has ceded to the Junta de Andalucia's health service, does not belong to them, and furthermore has a mortgage on it!

The land, according to the San Roque land registry, belongs to a family by the name of Tambrig who recently took out a mortgage on the property, despite having apparently having an agreement with the local authority to give it up in exchange for another site in the municipality.

The regional government is unlikely to issue contracts for the construction of the hospital until the issue of land ownership is resolved.
