A tornado, rated F1 on the Fujita scale of 1 to 5 with wind speeds between 73 and 112 miles per hour, struck Estepona on Sunday at 18:15 pm.
Travelling from west to east, between Arroyo Vaquero and the Avenida Litoral, it left a trail of damage, mostly fallen trees, damaged signs, billboards, and street furniture. Falling trees brought down power lines and blocked streams causing localised flooding, but the most dramatic damage occurred when the Rody Aragón Circus, which was performing in the town, had the roof ripped off their big top slightly injuring five people. |
