The Mayor of Estepona has announced the signing of an agreement to demolish the PRASA building which has been a blot on the town’s seafront for over four years.

The agreement cedes land to the developer as compensation for loss of the project which was the result of permissions given by the former GIL administration which gave planning consent which exceeded that allowed under the Town’s General Planning Document.

The demolition is scheduled for next month and will cost 1.2 million euros which is to be borne by Andalucia’s Coasts Department.

In the building’s place permission has been given for a single storey building covering 50% of the area occupied by the current construction.

Lee, who was awarded the Golden Unicorn Award for Lifetime Achievement at the Estepona International Festival of Horror and Fantasy Cinema, but unfortunately was unable to be present due to illness, made good his promise to visit Estepona, and took the opportunity to present his first ever CD of musical performances entitled “Revelation”.

Although not known for his singing, Christopher Lee has in fact performed many numbers as part numerous film soundtracks, and will be performing a number of tracks from his album at the presentation.

The evening starts at 8.30 pm with a montage of film clips followed by the album presentation and performance after which the classic 1966 Hammer film “Rasputin: The Mad Monk” will be screened.

Estepona will be holding its annual International Christmas Party on Sunday, 16th December.
The event, entitled 'Nuestro Navidad - Estepona' will start from midday and will showcase the food, culture and entertainment of the many nationalities that make up Estepona's international community. More details nearer the date.
