Car washed up at the mouth of the Rio Manilva

More heavy downpours today have caused localised flooding in many areas including Estepona and Manilva. Businesses and homes have been flooded after two days of continuous rain including long periods of extremely heavy cloudbursts, which also led to the closure of the motorway for brief periods.

The rain also led to chaos on the roads with a number of accidents due to horrendous driving conditions.

In Manilva, a number of vehicles were washed out to sea when the Rio Manilva became a raging torrent, at least five vehicles were washed up on the beach at Sabinillas.

The demolition is scheduled for next month and will cost 1.2 million euros which is to be borne by Andalucia’s Coasts Department.

In the building’s place permission has been given for a single storey building covering 50% of the area occupied by the current construction.
