“Sharing our joy of singing with you” is the motto of the locally based ParaSol singers, and that’s just what they are doing! Their most recent event was at their Summer social where they entertained a lively crowd….”What’s next?” I asked Mike, their manager, ” Usually we close during August” he told me; ” but this year for the first time we are putting on a concert for the local community on September 5th from 8 pm, so we are busy rehearsing for that.”
The concert, “A night of Music under the Stars”, will be set in the very delightful Rosario Gardens (first right up the MA8300 Casares Road – look out for the blue and yellow ribbon markers) where there is an outdoor amphitheatre.
Overlooked by the mountains and framed with trees and shrubs, this is a great place to be on a Summer night, literally under the stars! A variety of performers, both English speaking (or should I say singing) as well as Spanish will be combining to make a really great mix of popular and traditional song and dance, among them, a children’s troupe of flamenco dancers, a well known Sevillanas and Flamenco dancer and a guitarist.
“We are really excited about the concert,” Marion, the Music Director said, “it’s a lot of work but we just enjoy bringing a smile to people’s faces through music, and there is still room for a few more English and Spanish speaking to join us for our Christmas performances.”
All performers are appearing to help raise funds for the local charity of Duquesa Society of St George.
Entry is free, refreshments will be available to purchase but you can bring your own. Plenty of free parking but do remember to bring a cushion. This is an opportunity to support some of our local talent.
