Estepona Town Hall is creating a murals tour meant aimed at visitors to the town.
In the Tres Banderas area they have commissioned an 80 square metre mural by artist Conchi Alvarez, which will be an interactive work where people can play with the perspective, so that they can appear to be part of the image if they want a photo taken with the picture. The title of the mural is ‘The house of the good people’ (‘La casa de la buena gente’).
The other mural by Ana Cecilia Salinas in the Los Televisores area will be 30 metres high and is an allegory of Estepona with references to the world of chess because of its proximity to the Chess Park.
The two murals will be completed by January and have been funded by local concessionary businesses. In September the aesthetic improvement plan in which these two projects are included was put into action with a 180 square metre mural in the Mar y Sierra area, which contains elements representing Estepona.
According to the council, murals will continue to be commissioned in other areas of Estepona.
