Estepona’s Peñas Blancas mountains will once again be the venue for a stage of this year’s Campeonato de España de Montaña, from Friday 10 to Sunday 12 April.
Organised by the Spanish Automobile Federation, this will be the second stage of a seven stage competition which began in Arona and ends up in Andorra in October.
This is the second year running that Estepona has been selected to host a stage of this prestigious national motorsport event, which will feature a hill climb up to the Peñas Blancas pass.
The programme for the weekend begins on Friday, 10 April with the technical inspections of all the participating vehicles at the Recinto Ferial (Fairground), from 3 pm to 7.30 pm.
Motoring enthusiasts can visit the Recinto Ferial from 3.30 pm on Friday to check out the entrants.
Saturday, 11 April
12 noon – The Peñas Blancas road will be closed to traffic.
1.30 pm – First official practice session.
3 pm – Second official practice session.
5 pm – First race.
Sunday, 12 April
8.30 am – The Peñas Blancas road will be closed to traffic.
9.30 am – Third practice session begins.
11 am – Second race.
12.30 pm – Third race.
2.30 pm – Presentation of trophies and awards in Estepona Town Centre.
