Estepona will play host to the best drivers in the national and Andalucian mountain motor racing scene when the “Estepona – Puerto de Peñas Blancas” Hill Climb returns to the town on 10, 11 and 12 March for its ninth edition, a scoring trial for both the Spanish Mountain Championships and the Andalucian Championship.
With a route of 7.6 kilometres the “Estepona – Puerto de Peñas Blancas” Hill Climb is the longest of the eight events on the Spanish Championship calendar, with a total of 3 runs on Saturday (24 km) and a further 3 on Sunday (24 km), a climb of 481 meters and a maximum incline of 12.39%. In addition, the layout of the trial allows spectacular views of the Costa del Sol, the Straits of Gibraltar and North Africa.
New for this year the event will be connected to the town centre, with the vehicles on show to the public during the afternoon and evening of Friday 10 on the Paseo Marítimo, where administrative and technical checks will take place. For the first time, the popular crossing of C / Real with C / Terraza (“Paseíllo”) will host an exit ceremony at 9 pm, where the entrants will be presented to the public.
On Saturday 11, the first official practice will begin at 12.30 pm, and the second at 2.30 pm, with the first race setting off at 4.30 pm, and on Sunday, practice will begin at 9 am, followed by the last two races of the trial, followed by the presentation of trophies at 2.30 pm.
