An invitation to meet with the industry’s experts at Hotel Los Monteros Wednesday 12th March from 10 am – 6pm.

So, you have decided to take a luxury six star cruise holiday. The question now is – which line do you choose and what is the difference between them?  How do you identify a true luxury or ultra-luxury cruise ship or cruise line?    You can see adverts for “Luxury” cruise holidays  both in the newspapers and on television, but what is true Luxury cruising?

You need to know the difference between an economy 3 star cruise line, a Premium Brand’ line, and a 6 star ultra-luxury cruise company. You need to know how to define ‘Luxury’ as many cruise lines use the ‘luxury’ tag but do not provide a truly luxury product. You need to make sure that you are talking to an agent who really understands the cruise industry, understands your expectations and can give you the most informed advice.

The cruise business continues to grow at a rapid pace and has been the largest sector of the travel industry for many years now.    Cruise Connections Ltd, established in 1987 and based in Gibraltar, is the only company in our region of southern Spain and Portugal that specialises only in six star luxury cruise holidays. Cruise Connections are true specialists in this sector, focusing only on the highest quality, ultra luxury cruise lines only.

The world’s leading ultra-luxury & luxury cruise lines are:

Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Seabourn Cruises, Silversea Cruises, Crystal Cruises, Paul Gauguin Cruises, Sea Dream Yacht Club & UniWorld River Cruising. All of these companies are represented by Cruise Connections Ltd.  Also Cruise Connections recommend the other cruise lines that they deal with: Oceania Cruises, Holland America Line and Windstar Cruises as high quality premium brands.

Ultra luxury cruising, it’s ‘All-Included’

Whilst many luxury cruise lines offer “all inclusive” fares, Regent Seven Seas Cruises is the only ultra-luxury cruise line to include not just the standard i.e. all tips, all drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic), in suite bar setup, 24 hour room service and in suite dining BUT also virtually all Regent shore excursions are included within the fare too. Plus Regent offer a free pre cruise hotel overnight stay and wi-fi for guests taking a Concierge suite or higher.

Beware! Cruise companies that do not offer all-inclusive fares charge for all onboard purchases, including bottled water, tea and coffee. You will find that as such, your onboard expenses account which you have to pay as you leave the ship will increase very rapidly. A glass of wine can cost $10 plus tax & service charge whilst a bottle could cost a minimum of $30 upward. On these ships, tips are an extra charge and these can be a minimum of $20 per person per day. You can quite often receive a final invoice for onboard expenditure that is close or even more than the original cost of the cruise fare!

So our advice is to make sure that you choose a truly luxury six star ship that is all inclusive and you will have the holiday of a lifetime.  Cruise Connections is best placed to guide and advise you in this regard. ‘We are acutely aware that many prospective cruise clients, and even people who have cruised before, may not always be given the correct advice by high street and in-store travel agencies when requesting detailed information on the companies in the ultra-luxury  sector of the cruise market. The average travel agency will find it very difficult to give detailed, personal advice to clients unless they are able to employ a specially dedicated person solely responsible for dealing with cruise enquiries. Most travel agencies would find it economically impossible to employ a dedicated member of staff to handle this’, comments Peter Conway-Hann of Cruise Connections.

‘Cruise Connections have a very large client base here in Spain and Portugal, and with the internet we now have clients from all over the world. Our clients are highly discerning and experienced travellers, and expect nothing but the very best in unbiased and up to date information, service and quality of product – from the selling agent as well as the cruise line. With 25 years experience in the cruise industry, we have the in-depth knowledge the discerning traveller needs to fulfil their expectations. “
