Housed in the newly refurbished and repurposed indoor market in Calle Villa next to the San Luis Castle, the gourmet market is dedicated to a wide range of different cuisines, including craft beers, a wine shop, a cafeteria, and a large terrace.
On offer will be high quality products such as the prestigious ‘Amelie’ oysters, the best acorn-fed hams, fish and shellfish from the markets of Málaga, and barbecued meats.
Chef David Juárez will bring his 30 year’s experience of preparing Japanese cuisine, which he learnt at the hand of top Japanese chef Toshio Hirayama.
In a novel move the market has waiters and waitresses who will provide table service where diners can order food from any of the different outlets, providing a restaurant style experience.
The market is expected to provide some 75 jobs and the Town Hall will receive 1.7 million euros from the management company over the 20 years of the concession.
