Areme meeting

At the recent meeting of Estepona’s Foreign Residents Association, AREME, the subject of this year’s Foreign Residents Day was discussed.

The Town Hall has put forward a proposal to change the locaction of the event from the Palacio de Congresos to Calle Villa and the area surrounding the covered market and the Castle. This area has been pedestrianised and has been used for a number of events over the past year and it is thought that it would attract more visitors with its central location. It has also been proposed that it be held on a Saturday instead of the usual Sunday, and a provisional date of Saturday 31 May has been set.

Some of the members expressed concerns on a number of issues and it was agreed to address these over the coming days before reconvening on April 1st when it is hoped to confirm the date and location of this year’s event.
