To coincide with the end of Estepona’s various cultural courses and workshops the town’s Cultural Department has organised a three day programme of cultural activities in Estepona’s old town centre under the title “Culture Takes to the Street” to be held over the weekend Friday 14 to Sunday 16 June.
One of the highlights of the event is a free concert by the popular band “Danza Invisible” at the Castillo de San Luis from 10 pm on Saturday 15.
Friday 14 June
7.30 pm Dance Spectacular
Classical Spanish Dance by the Maribel García and Lourdes Barrientos Dance Academies.
Ballet and Modern Dance by the Lourdes Bazán Dance School.
8 pm Exhibition by students of the Glass Painting, Tiffany, and Polychrome Workshop in Calle del los Reyes.
8 pm Exhibition by the Drawing and Painting Workshop in Castillo San Luis.
9 pm Piano Concert by Felipe Campuzano and Hugo Laroche at the Plazoleta Ortiz.
Saturday 15 June
10 am to 2 pm Interschool Chess Tournament in Calle Real.
12 noon Performance by students of the Classical Spanish Guitar Workshop in Plaza de las Flores.
8 pm The “Farandula” Municipal Theatre Group presents the children’s theatrical work “El Rey Melón” in Plazoleta Ortiz.
8 pm Lace Making Exhibition in Calle Sirena
8 pm Painting Exhibition at the Casa de la Juventud, Plaza de las Flores.
10 pm Danza Invisible in concert at the Castillo San Luis.
Sunday 16 June
11 am Embroidery and Needlecraft Exhibition in Calle El Cid.
12 noon Concert by the Municipal Rondalla at the Plaza del Reloj
7 pm Concert by the Estepona Town Band Workshop at the Plaza del Reloj
8 pm Dance Spectacular in Calle Villa by the Ballroom, Modern, Cabaret and Oriental Dance; the Contemporary and Flamenco; the Classical Spanish and Flamenco; an the Modern Dance Schools.
9 pm End of Course performance by the Peña Flamenca de Estepona flamenco school at the El Calvario Park.
During all three days of the event there will be a free ‘Tourist Train’ operating through the streets of Estepona leaving regularly from the Plaza Antonia Guerrero.
