Casares dog beachThe Andalucia Ministry of Health has given approval for Playa de Piedra Paloma beach in Casares to be designated for the use of dog owners to exercise their pets.

After pioneering a dog friendly beach back in 2012 the Junta de Andalucia issued a prohibition order in 2015 since when the Casares Town Council have worked to find a solution.

This solution has been found and a 400 metre stretch of the Playa de Piedra Paloma, in front of the Casares del Mar urbanisation, has been allocated as a pet-friendly zone.

The Casares Councillor responsible for the municipality’s beaches, Noelia Rodríguez, would like to remind all dog owners of their responsibilities such as picking up any dog mess and ensuring, where applicable, the muzzling of those dogs covered by Spanish law and local by-laws.
