Casares prepares an extended programme of events for Andalucia Day


The weeklong programme of events begins with a meeting in Seville on Monday, February 20, of the Blas Infante Route organisers to promote, along with the Ministry of Tourism, the tour of the municipalities situated on the route, as announced at the FITUR travel trades show.
That same Monday afternoon begins the “II Symbols of Andalucia Tribute Week” in the Birthplace of Blas Infante with the conference “Homage to Lorca – Life and work of an Andalucian poet” by Rosario Valera de Maya. The cycle includes the intervention “Casareños through Andalucian History. 1918-1936” by Benito Trujillano Mena, which will be on Wednesday, February 22; And the homage to Manuel José García Caparrós on Friday with the inauguration of the exhibition of his National Document of Identity and the screening of the documentary “García Caparrós, memory of our struggle.”
One of the most significant acts will be the awarding of the position of “Adoptive Sons of Casares” to Antonio Jerez and Pilar Losada, which although scheduled to be held on Tuesday, February 21, will have its public celebration on Saturday 25, with a ceremony in the Blas Infante Cultural Centre.
February 28, Andalucia Day, is a very special day in Casares. Being the birthplace of the father of t Andalucia, Blas Infante the town enjoys a day of great atmosphere with ceremonial and festive acts in which a large number of residents and visitors take part..
The events begin shortly before noon with the tribute to the statue of Blas Infante in the Plaza de España, by the Town Council, political groups and local associations. After the floral offering there will be a concert with piano, violin and guitar by EMMES students, after which you can enjoy a dance show during by the Municipal Dance Schools of Casares, Secadero and Casares Costa.
The party continues with dancing from 2 pm with music provided by Dynamic orchestra during which revellers can enjoy the atmosphere in the local bars and restaurants.
